Subject of Self is an at-home social and emotional education portal for grades K–12 created as a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Visual Designer, NaliniKIDS, 2020–2022Everyone was impacted by the pandemic in the early spring of 2020, and schools, students, and educators were no exception. I was blessed enough to have had a relationship with NaliniKIDS around the same time, working remotely as their primary designer. As the 2020–21 school year approached quickly, everyone was trying to figure out how to navigate forward with uncertainty. In early summer of 2020, the powerhouse that is the team behind NaliniKIDS came up with a remote solution to aid educators grappling with the tumultuous teaching environment.
“Subject of Self—The Study of You” is an online portal for students and educators with an emphasis on emotional and social education. This was an extremely exciting and topical project to be a part of. I will forever be grateful for the creative freedom and support that I experienced while I was a part of this team and project.
Working with the team, I aided in creation of a brand style guide, information architecture and general UI mapping of the portal, design integration and building out of every screen in the portal, creation of educational worksheets and lessons, as well as related marketing and social media assets.
